SOLD OUT ____________________________________________________________________________________
Nelson co-produced and performed in the premier reading of the new rock musical, SOLD OUT written by
J. Robert Spencer and Christopher David Carter. The reading was held on March 5, 2001 at the McGinn/Cazale
Theatre in New York City.

PAUL NEWMAN'S "HOLE IN THE WALL GANG CAMP" BENEFIT __________________________________________
Nelson shared the stage with Paul Newman, Tony Randall, Michael J. Fox, Gregory Hines, Carol King, Kristen Chenoweth,
Joshua Bell, James Naughton and Joanne Woodward at the annual benefit for The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.
Nelson and trombonist Jonathan Arons performed “Cry Me A River”, their critically acclaimed number from the musical SWING.
Sarah Jane also played the role of “Grace” in the final skit of the evening, a take-off on the musical Annie.
Paul Newman played Annie and Tony Randall was an enticing Miss Hanigan complete with wig and dress.
The highlight of the evening was getting to know the spirited courageous campers who attend The Hole in the Wall
Gang Camp every year.

Long after Star Search and just before American Idol hit the scene,
Ed McMahon hosted a program called The Next Big Star on PAX-TV. Sarah Jane won
the Female Vocalist Category on the first episode performing her original
song entitled, Water Under the Bridge.

9/11 BENEFIT PERFORMANCE ____________________________________________________________________
Sarah Jane performed in a benefit honoring the victims of 9/11 at Don’t Tell Mama in NYC.
The money raised went to “The New York Police and Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund.”

MONTEFIORE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL BENEFIT _______________________________________________________

Sarah Jane Nelson performed at the Stately Homes Music Festival, a fundraiser for the Montifiore
Children’s Hospital. The event brings in millions of dollars for this excellent children’s hospital
located in the Bronx.

HOLIDAY PERFORMANCE AT MONTEFIORE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL ________________________________________
Sarah Jane organized a group to sing at the Montifoire Children’s Hospital during the holidays 2001.
Hospital President, Dr. Irwin Redliner, M.D. allowed Sarah Jane along with René Millán and Jason Paige
(pictured at right) to make rounds throughout the entire facility singing three-part harmony with guitar accompaniment.

LITTLE OL' OPRY _________________________________________________
In December 2001 Sarah Jane and husband, René Millán (pictured at left) played at the “Little Ol’ Opry House.”
This converted barn in the tiny town of West Fork, Arkansas, packs in a crowd every Saturday night as an incredible
five-piece band plays country, bluegrass, gospel and blues. Nelson sang original Christmas songs as well as some
classic Patsy Cline. Millán sang backup vocals. Check it out if you happen to be in the area someday!
